Academy Lane Founding Ambassador Terms
Last updated: August 2026
Thank you for wanting to share Academy Lane with other families. These terms explain how the Founding Ambassador program works — what you get, what we ask, and how you get paid. We've kept it plain on purpose. If anything's unclear, email mhart@oaklinlane.com.
1. What this is
The Founding Ambassador program is a small, apply-to-join group of Academy Lane families who help other families discover us. Being an ambassador isn't a job or an employment relationship — you're an independent partner sharing something you already love.
2. Who can be an ambassador
Ambassadors are Dallas-area parents with a child in our age range (6 months–5 years) who love what we do, selected by us. You don't need to be a current family to apply — as an ambassador, you come to class regularly (that's what Free Fridays are for). We accept a limited number of ambassadors and may open or close applications at any time. We decide who joins, and we may end anyone's participation (see Section 10).
3. How long it lasts
An ambassador term runs three months from the day we welcome you in. Near the end of the term we'll check in, and the partnership continues only if we both want it to — no automatic renewal, and no hard feelings if the season isn't right for your family.
- Your perks — Free Fridays and your code — run alongside an active term.
- You can step away mid-term whenever you'd like, and so can we (see Section 10).
- Commissions you've already earned are yours whether or not the term is renewed. Families credited to you stay credited to you.
4. What you get
While you're an active ambassador:
- Free Fridays. You can attend class at no charge, on a space-available basis. This perk is for active ambassadors and can't be transferred.
- Your referral link and code. A personal link (and matching code) that gives your families 15% off their first booking and tracks who joins because of you.
- A starter kit — your link, brand basics, and talking points to make posting easy.
5. How you earn
When a new family joins Academy Lane through your link or code, they get 15% off their first booking, and you earn 50% of what they pay — whether that's a single class or a 12-session pack.
- You earn on the first paid purchase only, one time per family. Anything they buy after that isn't commissionable.
- Your 50% is figured on the amount the family actually pays, after their discount.
- The free trial class is free for everyone and doesn't count as a purchase — it doesn't earn a commission on its own.
- A family is credited to you when they sign up through your link or enter your code. Each family can be credited to only one ambassador, and credit can't be changed after their first purchase.
6. When you get paid
You earn your commission as soon as a referred family completes their first paid purchase. Purchases are nonrefundable, so once they've bought, your commission is locked in — you don't have to wait for them to attend a class.
- We total up your commissions and pay them on a regular schedule we'll share with you once you're onboarded.
- Before we can send any payment, we need a completed W-9 from you. U.S. tax rules require us to report payments of $600 or more in a year, and we'll send you a 1099 if you reach that.
- In the rare case a payment is reversed by the family's bank (a chargeback), the related commission is cancelled.
7. What we ask of you
To stay active, we ask that you:
- Attend at least one class a month. You're a real family sharing a real experience.
- Post about Academy Lane at least twice a month, with at least one lasting post (a Reel or a grid post — stories are wonderful on top of that).
- Tag @academy_lane and share your link so families can find and join through you.
If you go quiet, we may pause your perks (including Free Fridays) until you're active again, or end the partnership entirely.
8. Keeping it honest
- Always disclose that we're partners. When a post is part of this program, label it clearly — "#ad," "paid partner," or similar. This is required by law (FTC rules), and it's simply the right thing to do.
- Share your own experience. Talk about what you and your child enjoy at Academy Lane. Please don't make promises about what our classes will do for a child's development — Academy Lane is early-childhood education, not therapy or treatment, and we never want a post to suggest otherwise.
- No spam or misleading claims. No buying followers, fake reviews, invented discounts, or pressuring people. Keep it genuine.
9. The relationship
Being an ambassador doesn't make you an employee, contractor, or agent of Academy Lane or Oaklin Lane. You can't sign agreements, make promises, or speak on our behalf, and you're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
10. Changes and ending the program
We may update these terms, adjust how the program works (including the commission rate and perks), or end the program at any time. We'll give ambassadors a heads-up when something meaningful changes. You can step away whenever you'd like, and we may end an ambassador's participation at any time — for example, if these terms aren't being followed. Any commissions you've already earned and confirmed will still be paid.
